6 Sustainable Crossbody Bags

Bag Lady: Sustainable Crossbody Bags

My latest fashion obsession is sustainable crossbody bags that are both unique and high quality. Bags are undoubtedly one of my favorite accessories due to their ability to instantly give a wow factor to an otherwise simple or minimal outfit. When I’m on the go, crossbody bags seem to best fit my lifestyle. Maybe most people don’t think as much about purse security as I do, but whether you’re traveling or live in the city, a crossbody is the best option for not easily getting your purse snatched, okay?!

There are a lot of amazing sustainable fashion brands that either solely make bags or make them along with other clothing and accessory options. Either way they’ve been catching my eye so I decided to document some of my favorites. Please feel free to play Bag Lady by Erykah Badu immediately after reading this post.

6 Sustainable Crossbody Bags I’m Currently Obsessed With

Emnet Foldover Crossbody @ ABLE | $148

I absolutely love the cognac color of this bag on this smooth leather. I also love the fact that ABLE is a brand dedicated to paying ethical fair wages.

Simone Crossbody Shopper @ NISOLO

I absolutely love the natural aging (patina) on this type of leather. So even when it’s not brand new it still has some beautiful character and will last for years to come. This sustainable crossbody bag is a little bigger than most, making it the perfect bag to put things in when you’re gathering them as you’re out and about shopping at small markets.

Constance Crossbody Bag @ Treefairfax

These made-to-order bags come in various beautiful colors and are one of a kind, created with natural hide and incorporating any “imperfections” in it to make quite the perfect bag.

Gessi Micro Crossbody Bag @ Matt + Nat

The thick gold chain on this line of sustainable crossbody bags (ranging in sizes) is such a stunning look. Another super cool feature is that the lining is made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles.

Everly Crossbody @ Parker Clay

Sustainable Crossbody Bags | Everly

This small crossbody bag is perfect for the minimalist that just likes to carry around the essentials. I absolutely love bags like this while I’m thrifting, to carry just my keys, cards and phone.

Ghana Billfold Bag @ Brother Vellies (via Shopbop)

Sustainable Crossbody Bags | Brother Vellies

If you’re feeling luxe then this is the perfect wow-factor bag that will bring a bold pop of color to any minimal outfit. It helps that Brother Vellies is a black-owned brand dedicated to fair labor practices throughout their supply chain.

Speaking of thrifting, another option for sustainable crossbody bags are those that can be found in the thrift store. Some thrift shoppers are only concerned with designer and name brand bags, so they often leave behind some really amazing other options. This post’s featured image is a high-quality, genuine leather thrift find. It’s vintage and worth about $80 from comparable finds online, but I got it for $3!
